God tells us to pray, so why wouldn’t we? Why don’t we? Does it feel weird? Do we think it doesn’t work? That He doesn’t hear us?
But He asks us to pray. If He weren’t listening, would He do that? If you can’t trust my logic, trust the Bible. The Bible confirms over and over that He listens.
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
1 John 5:14
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
He hears, listens and answers. He cares, like a good father does. And He can move heaven and earth to make things happen. He is still the God of miracles.
Yet, sometimes we need to see the confirmation, not just read about it in the dusty ol’ Bible.
Well, we can do just that. Prayer manifests results around us all the time. However, we don’t always know. And sometimes we do. When we do, we need to share those events. It’s not bragging, but it is a way to encourage your brothers and sisters. It’s enacting your mission — sharing the glory of God. So share your stories of God working in your life and let them bolster the faith and hope.
In early June 2017 she was scheduled for a July surgery that would require a six-week recovery period. Not only does that suggest the seriousness of the surgery, but that requires a lot of planning for a wife and a mom with a full-time job. She requested prayer from New Life. Then in mid-July, before the scheduled surgery, Nicole reported a trip to the emergency room.
Then Nicole told us the news:
“I have a miracle to share.
“I will no longer be needing surgery next month to remove the tumor from my colon because it detached on its own, and I passed it naturally out of my body last Tuesday! (Hopefully not too much info there.) …
“This event is so rare that following my checkup in two months my physician will be writing up the case for some medical journals for review.”
Thank you, God, for this miracle and for answering prayers! Our God is an awesome God.
We’ve got more stories like that, more prayers answered. Do you have one to share?
